Klarune
Variations for Clarinet and Piano

Music: Peter Groll
Clarinet: Branislav Dugovič
Piano: Andrea Mudroňová

Peter Groll:

Setting up the dramatic conception of this evening we wondered whether the combination of the two duets with different approach to "Man and Woman" theme would not come into conflict. My idea was to create some kind of musical bridge between the two dance works. I have composed the Klarune during my Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts second year studies as my semester project. I have developed the bridge idea by addition of the sound records from both performances. Thus I have created a new environment the Klarune is set to.

Do we really know the person whom we are being married to? By which criteria do we choose? What expectations and prejudices do we have? Are we able to tolerate the other one's oddities and mistakes? Can we confess our mistakes? Are we able to express our thoughts and desires? What if he/she will not change? What will the time do with us?
