Studio of Dance was founded in 1998, since July 1999 it has operated as an independent theatre. Zuzana Hájková, the artistic leader and a director of the company, produced the basic repertoire of the theatre (e.g. Sattó, Forbidden Places, Trois).
Developing new projects Studio of Dance has collaborated with personalities like Julyen Hamilton, Ondrej Spišák and Milan Kozánek. On the scene of authentic music it has collaborated with Pierre Michaude, Anton Popovič, and Pavol Šuška; on the scene of visual arts with Aleš Votava, Ivan Hudák, František Lipták, Peter Čanecký, Peter Janků, and Branislav Mihálik.
Studio of Dance begins to operate as a "production house" by which it scopes to present the production of other contemporary dance art subjects on the local stage in Banská Bystrica.

Pure human joy in movement and music, with its many shapes and demonstrations, exists from very beginning.
Dance as extacy, something dynamic, elemental and as a contrast dance as meditation.
Looking for our animal inside and as opposit for the human site, what makes humans human.
The play with time - the endeavour to search for timelessness.
